Visions Unveiled by the Poetry of Astrology

This deck was inspired by the Sabian Symbols.

The Sabian Symbols are poetic and symbolic images assigned to each of the 360 degrees of the zodiac.
For example, Aries 1° is symbolized by “A woman rises from the sea, transformed into a seal.” — an intuitive and mystical vision.

These symbols were created in 1925 through the collaboration of Elsie Wheeler, a clairvoyant woman, and Marc Edmund Jones, a metaphysician. Elsie drew slips of paper marked with zodiac signs and degrees, such as Aries 1° or Taurus 15°, and spontaneously described the images she perceived. Later, Dane Rudhyar reinterpreted them, adding philosophical depth and symbolism, shaping the form in which they are still widely used today.

While the original Sabian Symbols number 360, this deck groups them by every 5 degrees, resulting in 72 cards. This is because neighboring degrees often share themes and flows, and by treating them as groups, richer stories and insights emerge.

Of course, there is no single “correct” meaning to these symbols. The illustrations are intentionally left somewhat ambiguous, inviting you to overlay your own senses, intuition, and life experiences as you interpret them.
