This unique fortune-telling set is a faithful recreation of a mysterious Japanese divination toy believed to have originated before World War II.

The original item was discovered by chance during activities dedicated to honoring and commemorating those who lost their lives in war.

Although extensive research was conducted into the historical background of the name "Jinchu" (literally meaning "within the military camp" or "in the midst of battle") and its possible connections to military culture of the era, no surviving documentation has been found. As a result, the true origins of the fortune-telling method remain unknown.

What makes this deck especially fascinating is its unusual mechanism.

At first glance, the text cards appear to contain seemingly unrelated characters and phrases. However, when one of the illustrated overlay cards—with carefully placed viewing windows—is placed on top of a text card, hidden messages suddenly appear.

As if by magic, complete fortunes and predictions emerge, offering guidance on topics such as:

Please note that if the assembled box is touched with wet hands or rubbed, dye may transfer onto your hands.

The illustrated overlay cards include cut-out window sections. These areas may tear over time due to aging or repeated handling.

The text cards use old-style Japanese characters and fonts reminiscent of those used in the Meiji era. Some characters are no longer commonly used in modern Japanese.

For this reason, only the following will be considered defects:
1. Obvious printing defects that make images or text unclear
2. Clear stains or damage present at the time of delivery
